Colorado Mammoth Information
The Colorado Mammoth is a National Lacrosse League-affiliated professional box lacrosse club. Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, has been the home of the Mammoth since the 2003 season. Stan Kroenke, who also owns the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids, and Colorado Avalanche of Major League Soccer, is their owner.
Former names for this Mammoth team include the Baltimore Thunder(1987–1999), the Pittsburgh CrosseFire (2000), and the Washington Power (2001–2002). Colorado was the sole non-Canadian club in the Western Division from 2014 to 2018 before the San Diego Seals joined. Since relocating to Colorado, they have only had one postseason elimination.
The Mammoth had the best attendance in the league in 2004 and again from 2006 to 2008. More than one million spectators attended a single NLL season for the first time in the league's 20-year existence in 2006. The Mammoth was privileged to host the one-millionth fan. In 2008, the Mammoth had more fans per game than the NHL's Colorado Avalanche or the NBA's Denver Nuggets played at Pepsi Center.
In 2022, the Mammoth were victorious in the National Lacrosse League Cup, defeating the Buffalo Bandits by a score of two games to one. Dillon Ward was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for the Finals.
