College Football Playoff Information
College Football Playoff, or CFP, is a postseason tournament launched in 2014. It is the highest level of college football in the United States. The system was replaced by CFP, a more competitive and inclusive variant. It has a selection committee ranks teams on performance, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, etc., and chooses the top four to compete for a national title.
The playoff consists of two semifinal games hosted by rotating bowl games—the New Year's Six. Annual bowl games include the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and Peach Bowl. The winners of the semifinals advance to the National Championship game, played at a different site each year.
