Cincinnati Bearcats Football is an American team representing the University of Cincinnati football. The team has played their home games at Nippert Stadium since 1924, with a capacity of 40,000 people. Scott Satterfield is the current head coach of the team. The Bearcats have an overall record of more than .500; in 2017, they achieved their 600th program victory. As of the 2022 season, the Bearcats have gone 155-75 since joining the Big East for the 2005 season, with 14 bowl game appearances, 4 BCS/NY6 Bowl bids (including a berth in the College Football Playoff in 2021), seven conference championships, and 38 NFL Draft picks.
The official uniform colors of the team are red and black. The famous fight song is entitled "Cheer Cincinnati." The Bearcat is the official mascot of the team and the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Bands is the marching band.
Coincidentally, the rival Louisville Cardinals, Satterfield's old team, were scheduled to meet Cincinnati only a few days later in the 2022 Fenway Bowl. In the first-ever college football game to appear on The CW, Satterfield and the Cincinnati Bearcats defeated the Pittsburgh Panthers 27-21 on September 9, 2023.
