Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Information
Since its inception in December 1968, Atlanta, Georgia, has hosted the Peach Bowl, a college football game. The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl has been the official name since 1997 when Chick-fil-A began sponsoring the event. Officially, it was known as the Chick-fil-A Bowl from 2006 until 2013. The George P. Crumbley Trophy, after the event's namesake creator, George Crumbley, is presented to the victor of the bowl game.
Except for the games in 1968, 1971, and 1974, seven out of the first ten meetings featured at-large teams vs Atlantic Coast Conference teams. Before 1993, no team from the Atlantic Coast Conference or the Southeastern Conference could guarantee themselves a spot in the bowl. Starting in 1993 and continuing until 2013, the game featured a matchup between SEC and ACC teams.
Grant Field on the Atlanta campus of Georgia Institute of Technology hosted the first three Peach Bowls. The Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium was the game's site from 1971 until 1992. The Georgia Dome was the site of numerous events from 1993 until 2016. Beginning in 2017, the bowl was relocated to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Matchups from the College Football Playoff have occurred at the Peach Bowl every year since 2014, with national semifinals hosting the games in 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025.
