Canadian Tire National Skating Championship Information
Canada's national figure skating championships, presented by Canadian Tire, took place in Ottawa, Ontario, from January 6-12, 2022. Medals were given in the senior, junior, and beginner divisions of men's and women's singles, couples, and ice dance. The results were part of Canada's selection process for the 2022 Winter Olympics, World Championships, Four Continents Championships, and World Junior Championships.
When Ottawa was selected as the host city, it wasn't until February of 2021. The competition has been held in the city eleven times before. The January Skate Canada Challenge is where the competitors earned their spots. Men like Wesley Chiu, Corey Circelli, Beres Clements, Max Denk, Jack Dushenki, Stephen Gogolev, Matthew Markell, Keegen Messing, Nam Nguyen, Conrad Orzel, Joseph Phan, and Bruce Waddell, among many others, have entered the championship. The list of women who have contributed to the anthology is long and impressive: Amanda Tobin, Alison Schumacher, Madeline Schizas, Alexandra Sarmiento Diaz, Jennyfer Richer-Labelle, Alicia Pineault, Lia Pereira, and many more.
