Cambria College Classic Information
Gopher Baseball will host five more opponents the first weekend of March for the Cambria Classic, a nine-game round-robin tournament at U.S. Bank Stadium that will include some of the greatest collegiate baseball teams in America. Regarding college baseball, this event is among the best in the country.
The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, representing the Atlantic Coast Conference, has recently joined the likes of the home team of the University of Minnesota Gophers, the Michigan State Spartans, the University of Illinois Fighting Illini, the West Virginia Mountaineers, and the University of Kansas Jayhawks from the Big 12 Conference. In this invitational tournament, no Big Ten teams will face off against each other. In its place, non-Big Ten schools will play every conference member.
The games are held in the brand new and state-of-the-art U.S. Bank Stadium, which can hold over 66,000 fans. The Minnesota Vikings of the NFC North call this city their home. There is some baseball action there, too, for the Gophers, especially in the early season.
