Calgary Stampeders Information
The Calgary Stampeders are a professional football team based in Calgary. They play in the West Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The club's fifth oldest active team in the CFL hosts home games at McMahon Stadium. Though clubs have been active in Calgary since the 1890s, the Stampeders were formally established in 1945.
The Stampeders have won eight Grey Cups from their eight Grey Cup Championship game appearances, most recently in 2018. In the franchise's history, they have claimed one Northern Division Championship and 20 Western Division Championships. Along with strong divisional rivalries with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the BC Lions, the team has a provincial rivalry with the Edmonton Elks.
With a 12–6 record, the team made it back to the playoffs in 2022, but it dropped to second place BC Lions in the West Semi-Final 30–16. Dickenson retained his head coaching responsibilities, but it was also announced on December 12, 2022, that he had been appointed general manager for the team.
