The men's basketball team from Boise State University is known as the Broncos, and they play in the Mountain West Conference. The Boise, Idaho-based Broncos play their home games at ExtraMile Arena, and head coach Leon Rice was hired in March of 2010. With nine appearances, the Broncos have gone winless in nine NCAA Division I Tournaments. Even though they have participated in more NCAA tournament games than any other team, they have yet to secure a victory. 

Their conference tournament victories earned them five invites in all, with four of those coming from the Big Sky. They gained their first at-large bid in 2013 for a trip to the Final Four, and they got another in 2015. The next year, 2023, BSU returned for their seventh appearance. Over seven appearances, the Broncos have managed a 5-7 record in the National Invitational Tournaments (NIT). In addition, they have played in two College Basketball Invitationals (CBIs), where they have gone 2-2 overall.
