Boise Hawks Information
The Boise Hawks started playing ball in 1987 when they joined the Northwest League as an independent team. They found their groove quickly, especially when they became an affiliate of the LA Angels in 1990. During their Angels years, the Hawks dominated the Northwest League, winning championships in 1991, 1993, 1994, and 1995, making Memorial Stadium a tough place for visiting teams.
The team spent most of its history as a farm club for major league teams, switching from the Angels to the Chicago Cubs in 2001. For decades, Hawks fans have watched future big leaguers develop their skills in Boise before advancing through the system. The club built a solid reputation for developing talent while entertaining families throughout the Treasure Valley with affordable baseball.
Everything changed for the Hawks in 2021 when they joined the independent Pioneer League after Major League Baseball restructured the minor leagues. Their 2025 season started at Memorial Stadium on May 20th with a home series against the Idaho Falls Chukars. The season runs through September 7th, with their final home game scheduled for August 31st against the Missoula PaddleHeads.
