AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door is a wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event co-produced by the American company All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and the Japanese promotion New Japan Pro-Wrestling. It has been going strong since 2022 and takes place every June. Wrestlers from the two companies go head-to-head. This event gets its moniker from an AEW colloquialism that the promotion frequently uses to describe its partnerships with other wrestling promotions.
Forbidden Door was set to become a yearly event between AEW and NJPW after a second event on March 15, 2023, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on June 25, 2023. Additionally, this was the first PPV for both AEW and NJPW outside of the U.S., with the former taking place in Canada.
The third Forbidden Door was announced on April 11, 2024, and confirmed on June 30, 2024, at the UBS Arena in Elmont, Long Island. Mexican company Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), a partner promotion of AEW and NJPW, and World Wonder Ring Stardom, a women's Japanese promotion that NJPW just bought, were both represented at this debut Forbidden Door event.
