Abu Dhabi Combat Club Information
The Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) organizes the ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship, an international submission grappling competition. The first competition was held in 1998 at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Since 2001, it has been scheduled every two years except in 2021 because of the global epidemic. Included among host nations are Brazil, China, Finland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the US.
Only those who have won ADCC trials or by invitation can compete. Although most sportsmen use Brazilian jiu-jitsu, any grappling technique is allowed for competition. Considered the most elite submission grappling event worldwide, ADCC is sometimes referred to as "the Olympics of grappling."
Attracting 13,000 spectators at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, the 2022 edition was placed in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas from 17–18 August 2024. Head organizer Mo Jassim said on July 17, 2023, that the ADCC World Championship would have a children's variant hosted for the first time for the 2024 event.
