Zucchero Information
Adelmo Fornaciari (September 25, 1955) has a stage name Zucchero Fornaciari or simply Zucchero. He is an Italian songwriter, singer, and musician. The stage name given to Zucchero is an Italian word for "sugar" from which his elementary teacher used to call. His music commonly follows blues, rock, soul, gospel, funk, pop, and R&B genres. Also, he plays alternates between Italian ballads and rhythmic R&B-booger-like stuff. Zucchero used to sing in the choir along with playing the organ in the local church at a very young age. He also studied veterinary medicine.
Zucchero interacted with the American soul and blues music when he was 12 or 13. The very first song played by him was (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay that he played to Fornaciari. His actual music career began in the year 1970 when he joined several bands, including I Decals, Sugar & Daniel, I Duca, Le Nuove Luci, and Sugar & Candies. In the initial years, Zucchero wrote songs like "Tutto di te" by Fred Bongusto and "Te ne vai" by Michele Pecora, "Lisa," and a few more. His first official appearance was sighted at the famous Sanremo Music Festival in 1982.
There are several hit discographies, including Un PO' di Zucchero, Zucchero & The Randy Jackson, Rispetto (1986), Oro Incenso & Birra (1989), Spirito DiVino (1995), La Session Cubana (2012), Black Cat (2016), D.O.C. (2019). Some of his compilation albums are The Best of Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari's Greatest Hits (1996), Zu & Co. (2004), All the Best (2007), and Wanted (The Best Collection) (2017).
