Wizards of Winter Information
The Wizards of Winter is an American progressive rock holiday music band based in the tri-state area of New York. Currently, the lineup of the band consists of Scott Kelly (music director and keyboards), Sharon Kelly (flute and vocals), Fred Gorhau (guitar), Steve Brown (guitar), Greg Smith (bass), John O Reilly (drums), Alexis Smith (vocals and keyboards), Guy LeMonnier (vocals), Manny Cabo (vocals), Tony Gaynor (narration), and Kornelia Rad (violin).
The Wizards of Winter embarked upon writing their own Christmas rock opera, Tales Beneath a Northern Star, in 2011. In 2014, the group released its own-self-titled Christmas rock opera album. This album was created with entirely original material. The band released its second album entitled “The Magic of Winter” on November 12, 2015. The album was released via the Breaking Bands records, and Eric Rachel was the producer of the album.
The Wizards of Winter tours to support the ongoing research for choroideremia through “Angels for Mark.” They donate proceeds from sales by their single “March of the Metal Soldiers.” The Wizards of Winter released its new single in advance of their tour “Salzburg Carol” in November 2017.
The band has also toured with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s original members, including Joe Cerisano, Michael Lanning, Tony Gaynor, Guy LeMonnier, and Tommy Farese. The group released another hit studio album entitled The Christmas Dream in 2019. The album includes ten songs, four instrumental and six vocal songs.
