Winston-Salem Dash Information
The Winston-Salem Dash is an American minor league baseball team. The team was founded in 1945. They are currently associated with a High-A team in the High-A East, and since 1997, they have been a farm team of the Chicago White Sox. The Dash plays its home games at the Truist Stadium. The team joined the Carolina League in 1945, and they are known as the oldest regular operating team in the circuit. The Dash is owned and operated by Billy Prim / Sports Menagerie.
On December 4, 2008, the Dash announced that they would be called the Winston-Salem Dash from 2009 and onwards. During their past years, the team originally played at South Side Park, located south of the downtown area. They announced BB&T Ballpark’s official name on February 24, 2010. Eventually, on April 13, 2020, the Dash opened the BB&T Ballpark.
Previous names of the Winston Salem Dash over the period were Winston-Salem Twins (1905, 1908, 1917, 1920, 1933, 1937, 1942, 1954, 1956), Winston-Salem Cardinals (1945-1953), Winston-Salem Red Birds (1957-1960), Winston-Salem Red Sox (1961-1983), Winston-Salem Spirits (1984-1994), and Winston-Salem Warthogs (1995-2008). The official of the Dash uniform includes white, black, and purple. The current general manager of the team is C. J. Johnson, whereas Ryan Newman is the manager.
