Winnipeg Goldeyes Information
The Winnipeg Goldeyes are a professional independent baseball team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Established in 1994, the team participated in the Northern League throughout the 2010 baseball season. The Goldeyes entered the American Association of Professional Baseball in 2011 and have participated in that league ever since.
The Goldeyes won seven division crowns and the 1994 Northern League championship as members of the Northern League. Once the squad joined the American Association in 2011, they carried on their winning ways. In just their second season in the league, the Goldeyes won the American Association championship; they have subsequently won other divisional and league titles in the AA.
The Goldeyes declared intentions to first host home games in the 2021 season out of The Ballpark at Jackson, Jackson, Tennessee, the former home of the Jackson Generals, due to ongoing border restrictions. On June 1, the Goldeyes signed a new licensing deal with the city to keep using the stadium. The federal and provincial governments approved the Goldeyes' return to Shaw Park for games starting on August 3 on July 22.
