Walk Off The Earth Information

Walk off the Earth is a Burlington, Ontario-based Canadian indie musical ensemble. Covers and original music videos have made the group famous. The group gained fame on YouTube for its pop-genre cover songs that used looping samples and instruments like the ukulele and theremin. Gianni "Luminati" Nicassio, who plays many instruments in the band, is also the producer of all of their recorded music and music videos.

The Canadian band Walk off the Earth came together in 2006 in Burlington. The band's live rendition of "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye became viral on YouTube in early 2012, with over 175 million views in only four months. Gotye and Kimbra, who both sang the song, were both impressed by the performance.

Romeo Eats Vol. 1, the band's debut original children's album, was released on September 24, 2021, via Golden Carrot Records/The Orchard. The CD was released simultaneously as the group's "Romeo Eats," a web series for kids presented by Gianni Luminati of Walk Off the Earth and his 3-year-old son Romeo.

The tracks were released as Walk Off the Earth & Romeo Eats, Vol. 1 on LP. In 2022, Romeo became the youngest Juno nominee in the awards' history when the album was nominated for Children's LP of the Year at the Juno Awards.

One of Walk off the Earth's anthems, "Bet On Me," featured D Smoke, who had previously appeared on Rhythm + Flow on Netflix. The song was released on March 18, 2022.
