US National Arena Soccer Information
A national indoor soccer team competes on behalf of the United States at international tournaments, and that team is called the United States National Arena Soccer Team. Confederación Panamericana de Minifutbol (CPM) and the World Minifootball Federation are among its associations (WMF). In their inaugural international arena match, the United States National Arena Soccer Team was defeated by Mexico, 6-4, in Montreal, Canada, in July 2008. In July 2009, NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas, hosted the first-ever international arena soccer match in the United States.
In 2015, the United States defeated Mexico 5-3 to claim victory in the first-ever WMF World Cup finals. The Americans had gone undefeated in group play and had defeated Germany and Romania to reach the final. The tournament's goaltender, Danny Waltman, received the Most Valuable Player award. In 2017, the squad traveled to Tunisia to participate in the WMF World Cup.
On May 28, 2019, the United States national soccer team played Mexico in a friendly manner. Kraig Chiles, Nick Perera, Franck Tayou, Landon Donovan, Gordy Gurson, Taylor Walter Bond, Brian Farber, Justin Stinson, Jermaine Jones, Debray Hollimon, Travis Pittman, Uzi Tayou, Israel Sesay, and Danny Waltman all played in the game.
