Triple A Championship Weekend Information
To crown a single Triple-A champion, Minor League Baseball (MiLB) holds a single postseason interleague baseball game between the champions of the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). The game has been played at the end of every season since 2006, except 2020 and 2021.
From 2006 to 2008, this competition was known as the Bricktown Showdown and took place yearly at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The event was rebranded in 2009 but has remained in Oklahoma City. It has moved to a new Triple-A city every year since 2011. The 2022 game capped the Triple-A Triple Championship Weekend, a three-day tournament in which the IL and PCL champions were determined on days one and two, respectively, and the Triple-A National Champion was determined on day three.
The Sacramento River Cats and the Durham Bulls have shared three championships. The Columbus Clippers and the Omaha Storm Chasers have shared two championships. There have been five other teams that have won a title. The PCL has won nine championships, whereas the IL has only won six.
