Trans-Siberian Orchestra Information
Trans-Siberian Orchestra, or TSO, is an American rock band formed in 1996 by producer, songwriter, and poet Paul O'Neill. He put together the core of the creative team, which included Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli (both of Savatage) and keyboardist and co-producer Robert Kinkel.
After releasing their second studio album, The Christmas Attic, in 1998, the band saw a rise in their fan base after they began touring in 1999. They were called "an arena-rock juggernaut" by the Washington Post in 2007, and their sound was compared to Pink Floyd meets Yes and The Who at Radio City Music Hall."
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is also recognized for its vast charitable work and spectacular shows, which feature a string section, a light display, lasers, moving trusses, video screens, and effects synchronized to the song.
The group stated in June 2017 that they would continue their holiday-themed tour. They revealed that their 2017 tour will feature the same Ghosts of Christmas Eve narrative they had told in 2015 and 2016.
After performing the musical Christmas Eve and Other Stories from 1999 to 2011 on their first tour, TSO brought it back in 2019. The Ghosts of Christmas Eve: The Best of TSO and More will be released in 2022, and the band has scheduled a tour for that year.
