The Spring League Information
The Spring League is an American football developmental league that is also known as a scouting event. Brian Woods founded TSL in 2017. The goal of this league is to serve as an instructional league and to showcase professional football talent. The league is the second football property established by Brian Woods after the Fall Experimental Football League from 2014 to 2015. The Spring League consists of four to eight teams. It was announced on December 22, 2016, that the NFL would further own the league.
The first Spring League season consisted of a four-team. It was a three-week single round-robin tournament in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, at The Greenbrier resort (April). The teams were identified with geographic names such as North, West, South, and East. The game was also streamed on Facebook, receiving over 60,000 views and the practice received around 30,000 views. The April Games included NFL veterans such as Ahmad Bradshaw, McLeod Bethel-Thompson, Ricky Stanzi, Greg Hardy, Ben Tate, Anthony “Boobie” Dixon, and Fred Jackson.
The Spring League showcase was held on July 15, 2017, at Napa Memorial Stadium, located in California. The Spring League announced in March 2021 that they had reached a partnership agreement with the American National Combines of Stephen Austin. Fox Sports and Fox Sports 1 are the official TV partners of The Spring League.
