The Princess and the Frog is a Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures musical comedy film from 2009. For Disney's 49th animated feature picture, they looked to the 2002 novel The Frog Princess by E. D. Baker, which was based on the German folk tale "The Frog Prince" as collected by the Brothers Grimm.
John Musker and Ron Clements co-directed the picture with Peter Del Vecho and co-wrote the screenplay with Rob Edwards. Greg Erb and Jason Oremland wrote the script, and the directors contributed to the screenplay. Many well-known actors lend their voices to the film, including Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Michael-Leon Wooley, Jim Cummings, Jennifer Cody, John Goodman, Keith David, Peter Bartlett, Jenifer Lewis, Oprah Winfrey, and Terrence Howard.
The film follows Tiana, a dedicated waitress in 1920s New Orleans who hopes to fulfill her ambition of running her eatery. Tiana turns into a frog after kissing a prince who has been transformed into one by a witch doctor and must find a method to reverse the spell before it is too late.
