Tracy Letts wrote a comedy called The Minutes. It premiered at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theater on November 9, 2017, and New York's Cort Theatre on February 25, 2020. In the imaginary town of Big Cherry, a city council meeting is depicted in the show, which airs in November. The Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago hosted the world premiere on November 9, 2017. The cast included Ian Barford, Penny Slusher, Kevin Anderson, and others, and Anna D. Shapiro directed it.
On February 20, 2020, previews began for the production at the Cort Theater. Although Slusher was replaced with Blair Brown, Chamberlain assumed Anderson's role and was replaced with Armie Hammer. Meredith was replaced with K. Todd Freeman while Petersen was replaced with Tracy Letts (also the playwright); Burch (Jessie Mueller) was replaced with Austin Pendleton, and Guinan (Austin Pendleton) was replaced with Austin Pendleton.
