Suzanne Westenhoefer Information
Suzanne Westenhoefer (March 31, 1961) is an American stand-up comedian. She was a panelist on GSN's 2006 reboot of I've Got a Secret, in which she and her fellow gay celebs had to identify the secrets' of different guests in a limited amount of time. Her A Bottom on Top comedy/documentary program aired on LOGO in the fall of 2007. She co-starred with Kate Clinton, Marga Gomez, and Karen Williams in the 2004 comedy Laughing Matters.
In the early 1990s, she started her career in New York City's mainstream comedy clubs by performing material with gay themes to straight audiences on a dare. In 1991, she made history as the first lesbian comedian to appear on television with an episode of The Sally Jesse Raphael Show headlined "Breaking the Lesbian Stereotype...Lesbians Who Don't Look Like Lesbians." Short Attention Span Theater and Stand-up Stand-up, both on Comedy Central, featured her stand-up comedy in 1991 and 1992.
She then made history by appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2003 and hosting her HBO Comedy Special in 1994. The recent Sweet Caribbean cruise included Westenhoefer as a headliner for his "Finally legal... in a few states" tour.
