Steven Reineke (September 14, 1970) is an American arranger, composer, and conductor. He is known as the Music Director of The New York Pops. Currently, Reineke lives in New York City. He was born in Tipp City, Ohio. Reineke started developing his interest in his musical talents at a very young age while he played trumpet. He taught himself how to play the piano at the age of fifteen. He further studied trumpet at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Reineke received two Bachelor of Music degrees with honors in music composition and trumpet performance. Reineke is an Ohio native, so he graduated from Miami University of Ohio.
Reineke has also established himself as one of the leading conductors of popular music in North America. He performs his duties as the Music Director of The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, Principal Pop Conductor of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Houston Symphony, and Principal Pop Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Reineke has created many programs and collaborated with several leading artists on stage from rock, television, Broadway, and Hip Hop. Some of the artists he has collaborated with include Ben Folds, Peter Frampton, Wayne Brady, Cheyenne Jackson, Megan Hilty, Sutton Foster, Nas, and Kendrick Lamar.
