South Point 400 Information
South Point 400 is a stock car race NASCAR Cup Series that was inaugurated in 2018. The race is held annually at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is the second race at this location, the other being the Pennzoil 400. The current corporate sponsor of the South Point 400 is South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. The race typically occurs on the last weekend of September and is the fourth race of the Cup Series playoffs, along with being first in the Round of 12.
It was announced on March 8, 2017, that the fall race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, at the starting of 2018, will move to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This race will become the first race of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs that will be replacing Chicagoland Speedway. At this point, a semi-retired NASCAR driver Brendan Gaughan's father and LVMS partner Michael, was the South Point Hotel owner, Casino & Spa, who offered to be the title sponsor of the race.
Some of the past winners of the South Point 400 are Brad Keselowski 2018 and Martin Truex Jr. 2019, while the manufacturer winners for 2018 and 2019 are Ford and Toyota, respectively.
