Shawn Wayans Information
Shawn Mathis Wayans is an American DJ, producer, actor, comedian, and writer. He is from New York City, was the ninth of ten siblings, born to Elvira Alethia (Green), and Howell Stouten Wayans, and his family was once Jehovah's Witnesses. He grew up in the Fulton Houses in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea and went to the Bayard Rustin High School for the Humanities, graduating in 1989.
Wayans began his career as DJ SW-1 on Fox's In Living Color. Later on, he became a featured performer, who worked with brothers Dwayne, Keenen (the show's creator), Marlon, Damon, and sister Kim. He, along with Marlon, created and starred in the sitcom The Wayans Bros. Wayans also co-wrote, co-executive produced as well as starred in the feature named "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood" in 1996.
Wayans starred in many other notable films among which, some of the top ones are New Blood 1999, Scary Movie 2000, Open Mic 2001, Scary Movie 2 2001, White Chicks 2004, Little Man 2006, and Dance Flick 2009. He also starred in many television films, short films, and shows. Some of the notable ones are The Best of Robert Townsend & His Partners in Crime, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, The Wayans Bros., Comics Come Home 4, Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child, Thugaboo: Sneaker Madness, Thugaboo: Miracle on D-Roc's Street, Noches con Platanito, and a few more. Wayans also hosted the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
