Salebarbes Information
Salebarbes performs traditional Acadian music. E. Painchaud, J. Painchaud, K. McIntyre, G. Belliveau, and J. Breau comprise the group. The band started in 2019 with the modest goal of preserving classic Acadian and Cajun tunes. Still, the public's overwhelming support has catapulted them to the forefront of the French-speaking cultural scene in Quebec and Acadia.
The group participated in Tout le monde en parleon on October 10, 2021. They participated in Star Académie on April 24, 2022. The ensemble attended the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City on June 23, 2022, for the Spectacle de la fête Nationale du Québec. In 2020, at the 42nd annual Félix awards ceremony, the group's album took home the trophy for "traditional album of the year."
