Richard Noel Marx (September 16, 1963) is a pop rock and adult contemporary singer-songwriter. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. More than 30 million records have been sold globally by him. In 1984, Marx had her first number-one as a songwriter with "What About Me?". The song peaked on the US and Canadian Adult Contemporary charts and was covered by Kenny Rogers, Kim Carnes, and James Ingram. In 1985, he had his second number-one single with the Rogers–-penned "Crazy," which topped the Hot Country Songs list.
Only Marx has ever had 7 of his tracks debut in the top five on the Billboard charts. In his roles as both artist and songwriter/producer, he has amassed 14 number-one hits. He appeared in the 2021 "Young Parent Trap" episode on Family Guy. Stories to Tell, his autobiography, was published in July 2021.
Marx appeared in the 200th episode of The Goldbergs, "The Wedding," which aired in March 2022, performing "Right Here Waiting" under his name. The first song of his next album, Songwriter, "Same Heartbreak, Different Day," was published on July 15, 2022, while the album was released on September 30, 2022. This album has not only the studio version of Moscow Calling, which was previously a bonus track on Beautiful Goodbye as a remix but also a prior non-album single called Go.
