Red Sky Performance Information
Since its inception in 2000 under the direction of Sandra Laronde, Red Sky Performance has presented Indigenous Canadian dance, theater, and music. Red Sky Performance develops, produces, and tours works for both mature and younger audiences on stages worldwide.
In addition to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Closing Ceremonies and the Meet in Beijing Festival, the group also participated in the International Arts and Culture Festival in Inner Mongolia and the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad.
Red Sky Performance has won the Paula Award (2007), been nominated twice for the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts (2010), and won the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts (2010). (2006 and 2004). Recently, Red Sky had their dance and live music creation Tono nominated for three 2010 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards.
