Quenedit Dance Theatre Information
Quenedit Dance Theatre is committed to promoting the joy of dance to the San Antonio community by providing a pre-professional dance company for exceptional dancers and putting on high-quality performances for over 1,000 people each season. Students in the company have the chance to collaborate with experienced choreographers, both professors, and guest artists, to further their artistic development. Participants acquire stage experience at a young age and learn the discipline required to prepare for a performance and stage etiquette, confidence, and decorum, all of which are essential in a performing setting.
The mission of Quenedit Dance Theatre is to enrich lives through dance by providing opportunities for our pre-professional company to grow as leaders and dancers, perform for audiences in local, national, and international venues, and engage the San Antonio community through Performing Arts exposure.
Our yearly Nutcracker performance is their most important event of the year. In 2015, QDT had two performances with over 200 people in attendance, selling over 1000 tickets, doubling the crowd size from 2014. QDT holds all of the Nutcracker's production materials, including three unique scene sets and a complete costume collection. Their sole purpose is to provide high-quality, professional-level performances while also developing the necessary skills (discipline, stage etiquette, confidence, and decorum) for our dancers to successfully prepare and perform for various audiences in a variety of locations.
