Pintys Truck Race on Dirt Information
Bristol Motor Speedway has a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race called Pinty's Dirt Truck Race. The first NASCAR race on a dirt track since 1970 took place at Eldora Speedway in the Truck Series that year. When the World of Outlaws dirt late model and sprint car tours visited Bristol Motor Speedway in 2000 and 2001, the half-mile concrete short track's surface was coated with clay.
Despite being popular, with over 85,000 spectators on average, the race was abandoned after the second year due to logistical issues. NASCAR unveiled the 2021 Cup Series calendar on September 30, 2020. It included a spring dirt race at Bristol to replace the current event on Bristol's customary concrete surface.
When the Truck Series released its schedule on November 19, it did likewise. The Pinty's Dirt Truck Race was one of two dirt races on the schedule, along with a round in July at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa. The temporary dirt track, which started being put down in early January 2021, would host the event alongside the Cup Series dirt race and World of Outlaw's competitions.
