Pedro Fernandez Information
Pedro Fernández (September 28, 1969), whose real name is José Martín Cuevas Cobos, is a Mexican entertainer who has worked in music, acting, and television hosting. As Pedrito Fernández, Fernández started performing internationally when he was seven.
In addition to appearing in 25 films and seven soap operas, Fernández has recorded 39 albums. Four Latin Grammys have gone to him. Pedro Infante and Vicente Fernandez are two of his favorite artists, and their names came together to form his stage name. Yo No Fui, his 2001 album, was named Best Ranchero Album by the Latin Grammys. At the 2003 Latin Grammy Awards, his album De Corazón was nominated for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album.
Fernández had quite the year (2018). This year, he kicked off a year of performances and TV appearances commemorating his 40-year creative career. "Mr. Amigo" was his official title that February. The Mr. Amigo Association recognizes a Mexican national each year to foster understanding and friendship between the two countries.
March 2020 saw the cover reveal of Fernández's upcoming 40th album, which featured the single "Como Te Extraño Mi Amor" (How I Miss You My Love). The song was written by Leo Dan and was inspired by the success of Fernández's shorter rendition of the song, which she performed for the theme of the Telemundo political drama Preso No. 1 last year.
An American biographical-drama television series based on the story of the Mexican bandit Jesús Malverde, Malverde: El Santo Patrón, starred Fernández as the titular character in 2021. Telemundo Global Studios produced it.
