Orlando Ballet Information
Based in Orlando, Florida, the Orlando Ballet is a professional ballet group in the United States. With main-stage performances held in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Harriett's Orlando Ballet Centre, Orlando Ballet is Central Florida's only entirely residential ballet company. Twenty-five professional dancers from around the world perform in the ballet at any moment. Orlando Ballet II is the second company that the company runs, and it also helps pre-professional dancers.
The Nutcracker is a yearly production for the company. Since its 1974 inception as the Performing Arts Company of Florida, the company has come a long way. Beginning with 1978 performances in the Bob Carr Theatre, they rebranded as the Southern Ballet Theatre. Jorden Morris has been the Artistic Director of the organization since 2021. From 2009 until 2021, Robert Hill was the company's leader.
Orlando Ballet School is another well-known aspect of Orlando Ballet. Orlando Ballet Second Company (OBII) is a part of the Orlando Ballet School's trainee programs. In addition to year-round workshops and camps, there are yearly summer intensives. Children, teens, and pre-professional dancers can participate in camps and variety expos, while adults and teens looking for creative methods to exercise can join the Fitness Thru Dance program.
