Oktoberfest is known as the world’s largest Volksfest, which has been taking place since 1810 and has become a traveling funfair and beer festival. It is an annual national festival in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, although the festival has been recreated to occur in various locations worldwide. Oktoberfest typically lasts for 16-18 days, starting from mid or late September to the first Sunday of October. The festival is attended by over 6 million people worldwide.
During the Oktoberfest, large quantities of Oktoberfest Beer are consumed, and visitors are attracted by countless side stalls, amusement rides, and games. One can also find a wide variety of available traditional German food.
About 72% of the people who visit the Oktoberfest are from Bavaria, and only 15% of visitors come from foreign countries. As such, many locations have generated the festivities locally, so guests do not have to travel to Germany to participate in the fun.
