NWCA All-Star Classic Information
Annual Championships of Division I Wrestling have been conducted since 1928. Wrestling championships in NCAA Division II have been conducted since 1963 and in NCAA Division III since 1974, respectively. There are wrestling teams sponsored by several of the top college conferences.
Aside from the Big Ten, no other conference guarantees that every one of its member schools will have a wrestling program. There are just six wrestling programs in the ACC and the Pac-12.
Oklahoma State University has more Division I championships than any other institution. The OK State Cowboys has earned more than 30 recognized wrestling titles. From 2007 through 2019, every single national champion played their collegiate ball in the Big Ten. Two Big Ten institutions are among the top year after year: Penn State and Iowa.
During the regular season, you may find NWCA All-Star Classic tickets in venues on college campuses. Host colleges throughout the nation used to host the NCAA Tournament.
Large arenas in major cities, including Cleveland, OH's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, have hosted what is known as "March Madness" since 2000. The host institutions play host to the Division II and III tournaments.
