The Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men's Basketball team represents the University of Notre Dame in Indiana in the U.S. Division I Atlantic Coast Conference is the league in which the squad plays. The Fighting Irish announced their intention to transfer to the Atlantic Coast Conference on September 12, 2012, and officially became league members on July 1, 2013.

The school's basketball program has been honored with two national titles, one in 1927 (19-1 total record) and the other in 1936 (22-2-1 overall record), both of which were granted retrospectively by the Helms Foundation. As for their tournament participation, they ranked 9th all-time with 36 appearances and made it to the Final Four in 1978.

The Edmund P. Joyce Center's Purcell Pavilion is the Fighting Irish's home field. Since 1968, they relocated to the Purcell Pavilion; the Fighting Irish have had 44 winning seasons, including five home undefeated seasons and only four losing seasons.
