North Coast Information
In November of 2018, The North Coast Band members came together to develop a sound that would be distinctive to the region along the northern shore of Lake Ontario by fusing elements of East Coast kitchen party music with Indie Folk influences. Connor and Duncan Ivany have a deep appreciation for the natural world. They've put that appreciation to work as full-time occupations through their pursuit of organic farming and conservation while settling in and making music in Guelph, Ontario. They have been writing, recording, and playing indie-folk-rock, influenced by artists like the Bahamas, Bruce Springsteen, Zac Brown Band, and Blue Rodeo.
The band finished 2019 with an 18-show tour throughout Canada, following the release of a single and two extended plays. The Ivany brothers concluded their tour in late November 2019 and immediately returned to their "cabin" to begin creating and recording new material. While working on new material, the band also promoted its previous EP, Of Love & Leaving, a collection of six songs recorded at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, Ontario.
The brothers have begun recording their first full-length album, "Field to City," which is expected to be released in the summer of 2022. Released on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022, the debut single "Ohio In The Distance" can be accessed via the homepage. The North Coast Band performs as a duet and a full band in several Guelph area locations, such as Fixed Gear Brewing, The Cornerstone, and The Taphouse.
