Nimesh Patel (1986) is an American comedian and television writer, born in Parsipanny, New Jersey. Patel relocated to the Big Apple to study medicine at New York University. Since then, he has called the city his home. In 2008, he earned a degree in finance. He moved to Brooklyn from Hell's Kitchen in Midtown Manhattan.
In Lower Manhattan's Greenwich Village, he performs stand-up comedy frequently at the Comedy Cellar. Patel has appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Comedy Knockout, and @midnight. At Johns Hopkins University's Foreign Affairs Symposium, he participated in a panel about the intersection of comedy and politics.
About twenty-four minutes into his performance on November 30, 2018, at cultureSHOCK: Reclaim, an event promoting Asian representation presented by Columbia University's Asian American Alliance, Patel was asked to leave by the event's organizers. In response to what he saw as a dishonest report, Patel published a video on October 7, 2020, featuring his whole Columbia set. He has worked as a host on Comedy Central and as a writer, producer, actor, and political pundit.
