Nicky Romero Information
Nick Rotteveel is a Dutch remixer, DJ, and record producer. He was born and raised in Amerongen, the Netherlands. After a year in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, he returned to the Netherlands to finish his schooling before finishing off in France.
The two singles "Privilege" and "Qwerty" by Romero were released after he joined Once Records. After "Hear My Sound" was added, "Funktion One," also mixed by Azucar (of Madskillz and Gregor Salto), was released. Tony Cha Cha's "Get on the Floor" remix and a bootleg of David Guetta's "When Love Takes Over" was released in 2009. His fame grew after the release of these two singles, and the Ministry of Sound asked him to release several remixes on their label. Another one of his creations was a remix of the song "Alamo" by Dirty South.
In 2010, Nicky Romero released a new tune on Spinnin' Records titled "My Friend," which sampled the eponymous hit by Groove Armada. DJs and music producers, including Tiesto, Axwell, Fedde Le Grand, Sander van Doorn, and many more, have spun "My Friend."
The song peaked at number four on Beatport's global overall chart, while on the Dance-Tunes chart, it went straight to number one and was featured on the charts of many other well-known DJs. From David Guetta's "Where Them Girls At" featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj to Alex Gaudino's "What A Feeling" featuring Kelly Rowland to Erick Morillo and Eddie Thoneick's "Stronger" was an amazing time for Romero's remixes.
