Neal Morse Information
Neal Morse (August 2, 1960) is an American composer, musician, and singer. He was born in Van Nuys, California. Morse formed the progressive rock band in 1992 called Spock’s Beard, along with his brother Alan. They also released a moderately successful album through the band. He started a Christian rock solo career after becoming a born-again Christian in 2002. He also left Spock’s Beard. He released several concept albums as well about his new religious faith. Morse played with Transatlantic, forming three new bands with Portnoy, including The Neal Morse Band, Flying Colors, and Yellow Matter Custard.
Morse released many albums with Spock’s Beard, including The Light (1995), Beware of Darkness (1996), The Kindness of Strangers (1998), Day for Night (1999), V (2000), and Snow (2002). His prog albums are Testimony (2003) (the album was also the first concept album after he became a born again Christian), Once (2004), Sola Scriptura (2007), Lifeline (2008), Testimony 2 (2011), Momentum (2012), Jesus Christ the Exorcist (2019), and Sola Gratia (2020).
Morse has also released several worship albums in his career, including Last Minute Christmas Album (2020), To God Be the Glory (2016), Get in the Boat (2013), Mighty to Save (2010), The River (2009), Secret Place (2008), and a few more. Morse has made several guest appearances in his career, such as joining Matt Smith of Theocracy in 2020 to release “And The Rest Is Mystery.” It was released under the Project Aegis moniker.
