Mutlu Onaral is an American soul singer and songwriter (May 16, 1979) from Philadelphia and is first-generation American-Turkish descent. Mutlu has successfully built a substantial fan base in his hometown and won widespread praise for his releases. As he grew up in Philadelphia's deep R&B tradition, Mutlu developed a strong passion for soul, reggae, and folk music.
He served as the guitarist and backup vocalist for Amos Lee at live shows. In 2004, Mutlu debuted with his five-song EP. His debut album was "Livin' It," which was released in 2008 on Manhattan Records. The album received an A- by the Philadelphia Daily News, which was produced by Tom Wolk, who additionally provided backup vocals for two of the songs.
Mutlu Onaral collaborated and toured extensively as a support act with legendary duo Daryl Hall & John Oates. He also holds a clear distinction of having made the most guest appearances on "Live From Daryl's House," which is Daryl Hall's acclaimed, award-winning TV/Internet show.
Mutlu was also the support act for the North American piece of Joe Jackson's acclaimed "Rain" tour. He shared the stages with the likes of Adele, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Todd Rundgren, Shuggie Otis, Katy Perry, John Hiatt, Leon Russell, and many more.
