Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted Andersen (August 13, 1988) is a Danish singer and songwriter. She was born in Ubberud, Odense, Denmark, professionally known by her stage name, MO. After signing with Sony Music Entertainment in 2012, she released her first EP, Bikini Daze (2013), and her first studio album, No Mythologies to Follow (2013). (2014).
M's debut on the US Billboard Hot 100 came in 2014 with the tune "Beg for It," a collaboration with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea that reached number 27. The following year, she co-wrote and contributed vocals to "Lean On," a collaboration between Major Lazer and DJ Snake that became a worldwide smash, peaking at No. 1 in various countries, No. 2 in the United Kingdom, and No. 4 in the United States. Major Lazer's "Cold Water" and Snakehips' "Don't Leave," which featured Canadian singer Justin Bieber, debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart and number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2016. M was featured in both of these songs.
M's "Final Song," released in 2016, is her first commercially successful solo song. She dropped her second EP, When I Was Young, in 2017, and then her second studio album, Forever Neverland, the following year. M's third studio album, Motordrome, came out in 2022; it was reissued as Ddsdrom a year later.
