Michael Loftus (July 14, 1965) is an American screenwriter, commentator, and stand-up comedian. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, with his intrinsic humorous and comedy skills founded Midwest Comedy Tool and Die Comedy Troupe, which proved to be the gateway to performing at Acme Theatre in Hollywood.
Loftus’s wife Maura Soden is also an American actress and producer.
In 2009, his one-hour special presentation “You’ve Changed,” premiered on Comedy Central, raced his career and turned the spotlight on with the all-time hot topic of surviving marriage. “The George Lopez Show,” Charlie Sheen’s “ Anger Management,” Kevin James’ sitcom “Kevin Can Wait” are some major hits written and produced by Loftus. Besides that, he performed in the Warner Bros. album “Executive Privilege.”
In his podcast “The Loftus Party,” Loftus demonstrates his phenomenal understanding of apparently tangled issues over politics, social media, and pop culture, making it simple and easier with his insightful approach. Loftus has been the co-producer and Chief story editor of “Outsourced” NBC TV’s comedy series. He made a few appearances in “The Smoking Gun Presents” on TruTv’s series.
