Matt and Kim Information
MATT and KIM or Matt and Kim are an American duo following indie electronic music theme and based in Brooklyn, New York. This duo was created in 2004, having Kim Schifino on drums and Matt Johnson on vocals and keyboards. Matt and Kim met at Pratt Institute (Brooklyn) during their studies. Soon they started dating and end up learning keyboards and drums together. Regardless of their zero experience in playing the two instruments, Pratt alumni from the Japanther band forced them to perform live shows.
The music theme followed by Matt and Kim includes dance-pop along with hip-hop and pop-punk influences. Their music also follows an upbeat, energetic, and enthusiastic tone. Many people observed that the two usually followed basic pattern music that seems to be super-entertaining.
Matt and Kim started their career with performing live shows at small venues and close-quarters. An EP called “To and From” was the first music collection by the duo released in 2005. The first studio album of full-length by Matt and Kim was “Matt & Kim” released on the record label of the IHEARTCOMIX in October 2006. Some other studio albums by this duo include Sidewalks (hit no.30 on the chart of Billboard 200), Lightning, New Glow, and Almost Everyday.
Some of the hit singles by Matt and Kim include; "Yea Yeah,” "I'm a Goner," "Money," "Go-Go," "Come Together Now," "Happy if You're Happy," and several more. “This Was Supposed to be a Celebration (2007) was a collection by Matt and Kim.
The duo also released some quality music videos such as "Blazing Dynamite," "Block After Block," "Can You Blame Me," "Let's Go," "Let's Run Away," "AM/FM Sound," "Daylight," and the list goes on.
