Lyle Lovett Information
Lyle Lovett (November 1, 1975) is an American actor, record producer, singer, and songwriter born in Houston, Texas. When Lovett first started, he was primarily a singer and songwriter. Lovett was already a notable figure in the developing Texas folk acoustic scene by the early 1980s. In 1980 and 1982, he competed in the New Folk category at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Lovett was invited to perform at the 1983 Schueberfouer in Luxembourg by American singer Buffalo Wayne, whom he had met in 1978 on a student vacation to Germany.
He spent much of that summer in Arizona, recording 18 songs. Ten of the self-titled tracks from Lovett's debut album were recorded with the Rogues from the demo tape of the first four songs. During his stay in Arizona, he forged several lifelong friendships. Herndon, Matt McKenzie, Rollings, and Williams are just some Rogue alums who have since joined his band.
From 1987 until 2007, Williams produced or co-produced several of his albums. He met his longtime collaborator and future wife, Francine Reed, through them in 1985. They have been making music together ever since. In 2022, he was reminded of his ties to Phoenix. The Austin City Limits Hall of Fame inducted Lovett on October 24, 2019. June 12, 2022, marked the release of his first album since 2012.
