Luna Li Information
Luna Li has been dubbed "Toronto's garage rock princess" by Mick Magazine. She performs regularly with her band around Ontario and Quebec, including art performances and festivals such as Canadian Music Week, Slut Island Festival, and NXNE. Luna's single Star Stuff won the SOCAN Foundation Award for Young Canadian Songwriters in August 2017.
Luna offers a distinct musical sense to the rock genre, with over 14 years of classical piano and violin instruction. She plays distorted guitar and violin with a looping pedal, resulting in a "dreamy romp through some lovely melodies and tragic lyrics" (Deli Magazine).
After returning from Montreal, Luna began producing music under the moniker VEINS and performing live as a three-piece band in early 2015, where she spent one semester in McGill's music department. Luna Li, a female-centric four-piece band, evolved progressively as her music matured.
Luna has published two singles and music videos since graduating from Seneca's Independent Music Production program in April 2016 and has played performances around Ontario and Quebec over the previous year. She is slated to release her debut EP in October 2017. Luna Li is unapologetically herself, bringing a much-needed strong female presence to the Toronto music industry.
