Little Bird Information
The five-piece rock band Little Bird is noted for its unique R&B, jazz, and psychedelic sound blend. Jim Rubush on guitar, Ben Mossman on bass, Oleg Terentiev on drums, Noah Jones on piano, and Jay Hurtt on vocals make up the band.
Although the present lineup didn't form until 2017, the band had already been through several unsuccessful iterations. The band's members had a common goal of creating experimental rock music that drew from various sources, including Stevie Wonder, Nick Hakim, and Hiatus Kaiyote. They debuted in 2018 with the EP Familiar, produced by Mo Lowda members Jeff Lucci and Shane Woods.
PROXIMA, Little Bird's long-awaited full-length album, was published in 2021 and quickly became a massive hit on multiple streaming services thanks to its ambitious 23 tracks. Metro Weekly Magazine, for example, has praised Little Bird for their "sophisticated musicianship and heady mix of ambient, acid jazz, and vintage soul elements."
