Lise Dion Information
Lise Dion (September 18, 1955) is a Quebec actress and comedian born in Montreal. Dion was recognized after she won the first prize in the Bell Canada sketch competition. The following year, she won the Just for Laughs Festival for “Female Discover and Great Revelation.” Dion launched her first show in February 1997. The show was a resounding success, and she obtained three Felixes during the 1998 ADISQ Gala, including humorists and show writers of the year, the show of the year, and the revelation of the year.
Dion’s second show earned four trophies during the 2002 Olivier Gala, including Comedian of the Year, Comedy Show of the Year, Stage Performance, and Comedy number of the year. She passed another milestone in April 2003 and became one of the few artists and the only woman who had performed more than 50 shows at the St-Denis theatre.
Lise Dion directed a show in 2009 entitled “Complices,” directed by des Grandes Gueules. The efforts she put in directing the show earned her a nomination at the 2009 Olivier Gala. After that, she made a comeback on television and appeared in a detective series “Le Gentleman” directed by Louis Choquette. She has also appeared on a few other television shows, including The Little World of Laura Cadieux (2003-2007), The Heart’s Reason’s (2006-2007), and The Gentleman (2009).
