KiNK Information
In his frenetic, impromptu live performances, Bulgarian techno producer and DJ KiNK (Strahil Velchev) control an army of analog synths and controllers. Inspired by the improvisational spirit of jazz and the energizing rush of the early rave movement, his many records are playful and creative. Since approximately 2008, when his work began gaining widespread exposure, he has played at various clubs and festivals worldwide and remixed the work of artists such as Trentemller, Nina Kraviz, Matthew Dear, and countless more.
Popular techno anthems like "Cloud Generator" (2015) are in his wide history alongside eclectic, experimental albums like 2017's Playground, released on labels like Ovum, Rush Hour, and Running Back. 2018 he established Sofia Records and has since released many EPs, including the thrilling Hyper Epic in 2022. 2015 KiNK released "Cloud Generator" on Gerd Janson's Running Back label.
Separate solo 12"s were issued on Pets Recordings, Royal Oak, and DGTL Records, and he also collaborated with Elektro Guzzi and Fabrice Lig. Playground, his second album for Running Back, was released in 2017 and included everything from bright filter disco to fractured, wobbling IDM. Cocoon released an audio recording of one of his celebrated concerts, titled Live at Cocoon Ibiza, in 2018.
