KBS Immortal Songs Information
Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend, additionally known as Immortal Songs 2, is a South Korean singing competition show. Shin Dong-yup hosts the event. It's a new season of Immortal Classics (originally from 2007 to 2009), and each episode once again featured performers presenting their unique takes on classic classics.
Originally airing as Immortal Songs 2 on KBS Saturday Freedom, the show featured a different performer each week, with six idol singers covering their songs. Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend premiered on April 7 as a standalone program after rebranding in 2012.
Artists from well-known K-pop idol groups to renowned solo artists are among the seven singers or groups featured in each episode. The show's new name, "Immortal Songs," debuted on August 22, 2020. Kim Jun-Hyun and Kim Shin-Young took the place of Moon Hee-joon and Jung Jae-hyung after 9 and 8 years, respectively, of participation. After three years in the program, Kim Tae-woo, the third waiting room host, left in June 2021.
Several guest stars hosted the show after his departure in October 2021. Trot singer Shin Yu succeeded him in July 2021, but he departed the show in October. On November 20, 2021, Lee Chan-won replaced Kim Shin-young as the show's host.
Late in November, Immortal Songs began filming episodes with a smaller live audience. On December 11, 2021, episode 536 aired to that audience for the first time; the light system was still used to identify a winner in that episode.
